BikePed Portal is a comprehensive non-motorized data management system for manual and automated bicycle and pedestrian counts. Our services are designed to help you break down silos, ensure data quality, and get more out of your data.

Data

We accept data in multiple formats (including EcoCounter API, TrafX, manual, turning movement), and convert it all into a standardized format. Data are made public at 1-hour aggregations and can be downloaded from the Explore page.

Registered users have access to all data from all locations (both raw and corrected) through a Download page.

TOOLS

We offer quality control, quality assurance, and more. Our data checks include zero run length, nonzero run length, and rolling median.

As a registered user, you can:

  • Add correction factors for calibrated data
  • Use the annotation tool to keep track of events (e.g. equipment malfunctions, hazardous weather, social events)
  • Download data with all the flags, annotations, and raw and factored volumes
  • Calculate AADNMT (Average Annual Non-Motorized Traffic)

Three predefined user roles (e.g. data owner, data user, and researcher) are assigned to each individual, providing different levels of permissions.
